Just wanted to say hi to everyone at OFC!!! I just purchased my first american made Ovation. Scored a custom Balladeer 1612 on ebay and I haven't put it down since.
I just read a post elsewhere on the site that talked about buying a nice older ovation vs buying a new foreign made model and I must say thank you to all those who would rather have a new foreign model for keeping the price of the older ones down! I'm just a novice at playing six strings, but I have a newer celebrity and the 24 year old balladeer just plain old feels better in my hands. And of course that deep bowl sound...
Anyway, just wanted to say hi and I look forward to being a member of this site!!
Thanks
-Rich

Hi Rich,
That is a really good point I hadn't thought of. Although the prices of older Ovations should be higher, and it's a real pain for folks in the biz of selling older Ovations, it is nice that someone with a little knowledge, can get a really great, well made guitar, for a decent price.

Miles, Al and Gizz,
Thanks for the warm welcome! I see that the number of members is growing exponentially, that's exciting- approaching 400 before too long here....
I also emailed a couple of friends of mine that play Ovations exclusively (and record), about the cd contest- so perhaps you'll hear from them as well. Bye for now...
