Location: puerto vallarta, mexico | now that is great idea cliff. a floating road show, though that describes most musicians on the road.
and yes it is common for people to dissappear here. despite the numerous keystone cops in mirrored sunglasses here, hardly anyone is ever asked for their papers. in almost 30 years of traveling here, except at the border, i have not been asked for papers. a guy in our band has been here for 4 years on a 6 month visa and drives an unlicensed vehicle he bought here for a hundred bucks. i have never had to show my fishing or boat permits. there is allot of freedom here, and if you know a few officials here things can always be fixed if necessary. to all of the mexicans i am tomas, my middle name. if you came looking for russell swider, even my best mexican friends, even the drummer and the base player in our band wouldn't know who you were talking about. so you could become rocko montana and cliffito would be gone..... |
