Location: Phoenix AZ | Does anyone know if Ovation had an earlier hardshell case before the brown molded type? Reason I ask is that I came across an older Ovation (67-68) that has a black hard case, but more of the traditional "Martin" style. Orange inside. I think it's original and fits the deep bowl perfectly. Just curious if it's an original Ovation case or not. I'll try to post a photo. Dave |

Location: Atlanta,Ga. | There were two styles of early cases for ovation pre/brown molded case..One had an orange liner and the other one that i have seen had a blue liner..I have several shiny bowl acoustics and they came with the orange and blue cases.... |

Location: Phoenix AZ | Thanks guys. Based on your inputs I am pretty convinced it is an original case with the orange interior. I bought the case for a pretty inflated price, but the guy threw in a shiny bowl 12-string for free. Dave |

Location: 6 String Ranch | The brown cases were made by Freistat case company and they were in Opa Locka Fla. They've been bought by I thik TKL. Prior to that they were made by Geib, maybe. Sam's description is correct of the two interior colors. There was the cheaper cases that were black with mostly red interiors, the archcraft cases, read heavy cardboard. |

| The non-elect Glen Campbell I bought my ex-wife decades ago was originally purchased with the black case and blue interior. |

Location: Atlanta,Ga. | My early shiny bowl Glen Cambell came with the black case with blue linning as well...The case is a hard shell with arch top..Seems to be a more deluxe case than the orange lined ones...... |
