Location: Scotland | Another musical icon has passed away & the world's Media, apart from a small obituary in the London Times, appears to be oblivious. USA-born, UK-resident Tim Rose, writer (or re-writer) of the version of "Hey Joe" covered by Hendrix, as well as having a couple if major hits in his own right ("Come Away Melinda" & "Walk Me Out In The Morning Dew") passed away a few days ago, after he failed to regain conciousness following an operation for bowel cancer. I've worked with Tim regularly over the last 5 years or so, I was currently arranging some UK live dates and remix sessions for his latest recordings when I got the news. If any of you are fans, messages can be left on his website http://www.timrose.net/
It's doubly saddening that after some time in the wilderness, Tim's back catalog & new material was starting to receive the attention it deserves & his work with Nick Cave had increased his profile. His recent live shows have been amazing, raw & full of passion. I'll miss him.
