I have an opportunity to purchase a Model 1151 but can't seem to find out much about this particular model. Any reviews or advice would be appreciated. Condition is like new.

Are you sure it's not a 1115 which would be an old 12 string?

It is a 12 string, apparently made in 96, per the serial number. From the OFC reference chart the 1151 Standard Balladeer was made for ~ 5 years, 95-99. I've just never heard of it before.

Usually when it is a 12 string it says so in the ref. chart. An 1155 is a Custom Balladeer 12 string made for 3 yrs. 82-84. I really don't know
if an 1151 came in 12 string or not.

If I can sort thru all the differnt models that we have made over the years, I belive that the 1151 was a deep 12 string ball. We stopped making deep bodies a couple of years ago, except for special orders. Now the model that is taking over is the 6751, which is a 12 string cutaway mid depth. The 1151 is a nice guitar though.

Thanks for the info... I was starting to think I was interested in an Edsel or something worse. I can find only 1 reference to that model via GOOGLE. Being a novice I just wanted a guitar that was not only an easy player but one w/ a quality sound and of course at a reasonable price.
I had picked up my father-in-law's Ovation and thought it was a great player..(Knew I wanted one)..alot easier than the Hofner I'm learning on...although it (the Hofner)has really nice sound. Anyway if you come up with anymore info, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks and best regards,

Jim
