But I just got a Manuel Cantreras II C-5, hand made in Madrid. Sad story. The previous owner, who was an excellent classical guitarist, had an industrial accident. Lost his fingers. I could cry just thinking about it. But I got the guitar for $1,000. It lists for $2,650, and on top of that, he had had electronics installed. It came with a beautiful case, a stand, and a new set of Augustine strings. I promised him I would cherish the guitar forever. Now I need to start working harder on my classical repertoire and put that darned banjo down for a few minutes!

(and thanks again!) so I picked one up off the bay last week for 123.50 from a local seller w/case. Heck its worth that just to be able to tell my wife "I'm going to play with my Johnson" Wally

They're brass body biscuit reso's for a swampy blues sound, while yours is a Spider cone, which probably has more of a bright tone. But at prices like we paid, you can't lose. When time comes to upgrade, I figure I can always get out of it what I paid. Just picked up one of those 'clearance' Johnson Resonator guitars from dvd. Over at Big Road Blues, you'd be surprised. While we may turn up our noses at Rogue and Johnson guitars, they have a decent reputation for low-cost resonators. Dog, you need a classical sized arched case to fit it properly.

Thought about getting one of these but http://elderly.com/accessories/items/GCEV-DOBT.htm Don't want to spend as much as the guitar on it. Several guys over at BRB bought some of those Rouges when they were blowing them out at MF. I played a few Regals that wern't to bad either. Next on my list Republic parlor Reso Olympus LS-10 linear recorder Hamer Vector (maybe) Wally

I was looking for this model since five years. Two weeks ago I was lucky that a very nice guy in Munich sold the guitar of his deceased father. The sound of these early textured top Adamas guitars is stunning. Brown color looks very warm and natural (but my favorite color is still beige). Karl

You going to go for a GS 1 and 2 in each color? I think I like the sound of my GSII with the two humbuckers better than the GSIII. | | | Tim in Tidewater |
Joined: December 2005 Posts: 1234 Location: Tidal Mudflats of Virginia Mark, | Haven't played a GS 1 or 2, or even seen one of 'em up close :) Funny, the blue sounds better but the teal plays smoother  The Applause...well, it's an Applause.... | | Mark in Boise |
Joined: March 2005 Posts: 12750 Location: Boise, Idaho I think I've got a problem with the middle pickup on mine. It sounds much better on the neck or bridge pickups, but not with the switch in the middle 3 positions. Pretty versatile, but way more switches and effects on my amp than I know what to do with.
