Location: Scotland | I personally think the Kahler trems & similar are over-engineered and are more hassle than they're worth. I don't need a tremelo system that is capable of making the strings hang off the neck & I find locking nuts & fine-tuners a royal pain in the ass. Trev Wilkinson's trem is simple & elegant, you dont have to carve up your guitar to install and when properly set-up has very stable tuning. If you have the GS with a factory Kahler stay with it, the routing is completely different to the Wilkinson

Location: The Great Pacific Northwest | I like Kahler. They are more for me easier to control (not as drastic as Floyd Rose) and they stay in tune. I also fine the "fine tuners" on the bridge very useful, especially if you knock a string out of tune in the middle of a song.
If you just use it occasionally or just use a little vibrate type affect, then the Wilkinson style is fine. Wilkinson is also very sensative to the guage and type of strings. If you use lets say 009 Bommers and switch to 009 Elixer, chances are it will act differently and you may have to adjust the springs and tension screws. The Kahlers and Rose style do not seem to be as sensitive to this.
The brand new Floyd Rose are actually pretty nice also, but I don't like the older ones at all. I have several GS guitars, and I've never been totally happy with any of the Wilkinson setups on them. I think it may be because of the neck on these guitars, but the Kahlers are great on the GS guitars. |

Location: Canada | I agree with the Kahler. My GS has a Kahler trem but I've also player with the Wilkinson. Kahler is far superior when it comes to staying in tune. As for Wilkinson or similar style trems (like the Fender strat type), they always go out of tune which really sucks especially during a performance. The string lock that accompanies the Kahler trem also helps a lot to keep the strings in tune which the Wilkinson Trem doesn't have. |

Location: Las Cruces, NM | Just grab that neck and bend it back and forth, and it will go up and down (and void your warranty). I'm working on a tremolo based on the Scruggs type banjo twisters where you have a lever on your tuning pegs that through a rack and pinion system raises and lowers the three high strings from the bottom side of the head. It is specifically intended to irritate Fender players, as it will only work on guitars with 3 up and 3 down tuning pegs. The deluxe model has a tiny power steering system, battery powered with a switch on the pickgaurd so it can be operated with the right hand.
