One thing I have always liked about Ovation guitars has been the headstock design. My Adamas has the beautiful carved headstock, and my Custom Balladeer has the classic Ovation headstock. That being said.....What in the hell were they thinking with this new Tangent model headstock. Talk about UGLY! Dang, when Ovation wants to screw something up, they screw it up. What an ugly guitar, but what a mess they have made of Ovation's signature headstock...Paul Hebert

I kinda felt the same way when I saw a picture of them in a catalogue, I like the Ovation headstock and consider it a classic.

I've already signed in on this topic. My comments then still hold true today. By the way, any of you seen the 12 string version of this? Just as phokking ugly as the 6.

My favorite "what-the-huh?" ....

I figured getting their hands slapped for making a "Four'n-Two" would give them an excuse to put a normal headstock on it, then ok... it's something, different, it's not for me... but it's an Ovation..... but noooooooooooo... we can't have a Four'N-Two so lets make it a Two'n-Four....

On that other hand... I guess some folks are buyin'em up... so what do I know?

The Thunderbolt wasn't my cup'o-java, but they didn't do too bad either.

I guess it's all about taste.

They kind of remind of the Ultra GS headstock. Totally "not-Ovation" like but you kind of get used to it after a while. Some of the Adamas' heads are kind funky (the carved ones). Personally I think the Adamas is a great guitar except for the carved head. I like the original style head better.

The 12 string Tagement is in the KMC lobby. It was somewhere and has got signatures all over it. It's funny, you walk in the front door and that thing is one of the first things you see. Kinda like going into someone's house and you have to walk through the bathroom first, and it's a total mess, and they didn't flush. Not a good first impression.

I belive that the tangent with the funky head is being produced overseas, the from the US has the standard Ovation headstock. We cant produce the funky one in the US. I also never saw a twelve string leave the shop! Maybe I was out that day.
