Location: Lafayette, Louisiana | Hello, I am wondering about the differences in the bridges that were used in Ovation solidbody guitars. When did Ovation change from the bride with the big brass saddles, to the chrome bridge. Was the chrome bridge made by Schaller? I would be interested in comments on which bridge players prefer. And which bridge is easier to set up. Thanks...Paul Hebert |

Location: NJ | the chrome bridge and the brass bridge were both made by schaller. I am rather sure they were used simultaneously with either gold or chrome hardware. the first bridge had the nylon saddles and I am not real sure who made them. Those were not my fav |

Location: 6 String Ranch | The ones with nylon saddles were assembled at the factory. Later the saddles were brass. The Schaller bridges came in later, at mid way through the UK2 production run, when ever that was. Everything switched over to them then (after the old inventory was depleted of course) |

Location: Scotland | I own guitars with all three bridges & don't think they contribute enough to make a major difference to the sound. My own preference is for the Ovation bridge with the brass saddles, but that is just for the look rather than anything else. |

Location: NoHo, CA | I agree with Paul Templeman. I have owned both the ovation and Schaller bridges and I didn't notice any difference in sound or set up. I prefer the later all chrome Shaller bridge just for looks. For me I also found the all chrome bridge a little easier to string. And as far as Paul Herbert is concerned I think he should buy that barnburst Viper on e-Bay :) Merry Christmas all!
