This Elite is kinda interesting. It looks like it might have been one of the last of the prototypes before the final fingerboard inlay design was settled upon. But it is labeled a prototype.

Also, if anybody knows why, the seriel number is odd, 5 digits with a - 6 at the end.

I don't think he'll get anybody to bid on it at the price he's starting the bids.

Paul, some the prototype serial #'s from around that period had a date as at least part or all of the number, which looks like the case with this guitar...don't know what the '-6' means but somebody here will know.

I'd like to get some more input on this guitar.

By the way Wayne, I saw the remains of the UKII you're selling on ebay. Did you run over that thing with a truck? Have you put the pickups in your Bluebird yet?

The pickup change looks interesting in that the UK2 p/u's look larger than the hbuckers.

Paul, the UKII pickups are exactly the same size as both the Breadwinner/Preacher Humbuckers & the Viper single coils

Paul M, you are probably thinking of the surrounds (with the series/parallel switch) which make the pickup look bigger overall.

By the way Paul T, I ordered the book by Adrian Legg that you recommended. I will wait until I get that before I do the swap...I want to utilize my extra toggle switch to at least do parallel/series in the bridge pup.
