I was changing my Battery in my 1778LX and when I put the "unit" back into the guitar it slipped in "crooked" I can not get it out again!!!!! I took the back bowl cover off and tried to "push" and pull while holding the Release button down and nothing!! Please give me some ideas!! :eek: :eek: | ||

You can't push it out from inside without unscrewing the clamp thingies. digging it out with a knife was not an overly pleasant experience - I make sure it goes in dead straight nowadays. | ||

If the preamp, where/what did you put the "preassure" on? I've spent 1/2 hour trying to get the damn thing out. I feell like any moe force is going to breake the plastic can or worse. | ||

Joined: August 2006 Posts: 3145 Location: Marlton, NJ | I would take the can out - loosen the two screws that hold it in. Sometimes the can itself is in tight and puts extra pressure on the preamp. As Muzza said, the can is held in by pressure from the two screws/clamps. | ||

I got a thin old fashioned flat bladed butter knife and pried it out in the area I've indicated with the red arrow below. Try to do it while pressing the release button. Bonne chance. ![]() | ||

Joined: September 2006 Posts: 347 Location: Reno, NV | In my experience, if you overtighten the screws holding the can in the body, you will distort the can and make it tight on the pre-amp, just tighten the screws enough that it holds the can in the body, but not more. | ||
