Well here's the deal...I bought the korean celeb. I figger it's got a bad pickup from all indications. Al informs me he only has American pickups. Ovation won't even return my e-mail. I guess I'll be driving to Korea. ANYONE out there got any ideas??

Drive to Korea eh. I hope your car is a boat. ;) I am in the same situation. I figured it would be easy to replace. Maybe even the entire knob/pickup/jack/wires combo. Maybe this is not as easy as it seems. Good luck.

You could consider having the celeb routed to take the wider US pickup, shouldn't cost a lot.

Keep on trying. Whenever I email Ovation, they always reply within a few hours. Good luck

Having the celeb routed sounds like a decent idea. Something I can do myself also. Maybe I should just have Al send me a US pickup.

BTW...maybe I could just "float" over on this celeb. Although I have had cars in the past that have been called boats, The newer Fords don't float so good.

Does anyone know if the OP24+ is Korean or American?

As for Ovation, depends what you ask about. I asked about a Celebrity and they took a month to reply, but when I asked about my Breadwinner, they replied within 1/2 a day... hmm... I wonder why?

All of this talk of floating to Korea reminds me of my time spent there. I was stationed near Pusan about 7 years ago. That is also where I first heard and played an Ovation. Been hooked ever since. I took a flight from Pusan to Seoul to Portland Oregon, to Seattle. I arrived in Seattle an hour before I left Pusan due to the time difference. Whether you are floating over by car or by deep-bowl, make sure you take along plenty of music to play on your O on the trip.

I think while I'm at it I'm going to try to re-glue the bridge (it has lifted just a bit). Anyone got any ideas on how to go about that? I don't want to take it off to clean the surface, I'm wondering whether I'm pissin up a rope?

bd, you are not alone. I emailed & phoned Ovation since Oct last year. No replies at all. I heard similar complains from numerous people I met.

Why Ovation is not as popular or successful as before (70-80s)? They need to improve their customer service.

Could you please explain how & why Ovation customer service is the best in the world?
I'm not the only one that got no replies from Ovation USA customer service via phone or email. It's not one email or one phone call. Several emails & several phone call. For several months.
What is your relationship with Ovation? Maybe you get special treatment or have a special hotline.

I love my Ovation & Adamas guitars, but I have to say I'm really disappointed. If there is a known problem, let's face it & correct the problem ASAP. No one is perfect.

I already give up on Ovation customer service & hope this board could answer my questions in the future.

I said best in the industry and I believe it. Do a search on customer service and I am positive you will find many that agree.
Your experience is not typical.

I got an Ovation emaul response after the 2nd emaul I sent. The rep referred me to my local dealer. I tried Guitar Center. 3 times. They were too busy taking bong hits and in-store customer cash to even place the order. I wasted 6 weeks on them. I was a little disappointed in Ovation & wouldn't piss on Guitar Sinter if that whorehouse was on fire. Kit at Fretworks (certified Ovation Luthier) made 1 phone call to Ovation.....it arrived in 3 days. I think Ovation does more quickly deal with preferred customers. :(
