Alped/Mr. Ovation,

You guys have been saying " ... there are many issues involved with this person that the majaroty of the membership are not aware of, including lude, insulting and disgusting posts, spamming the membership, attempted identity theft and crashing this sites host server (that's the short list)... "

I have been reading postings for over a year. All I see was that some people like Alped, you & a couple of other guys STARTED to attack or make fun of elias. Everything is in the archive.

Even in the "A note from the Phantom", you guys started personal attacks on elias. Let's be fair guys. If you can't present any evidence, please don't call people names. It just does not look good on you guys, especially the moderator & administrator.

By the way, how do you know elias actually posted the Phantom note? Whoever does not like elias could post a note like that.

JBX2, Dr could mean PhD & MD. Please don't jump into conclusion.

I been a member here since August of 2002. I have seen posts where this Elias guy was assaulting the members at ramdom(at least a couple of times). I don't know where you have been, not to see all of this happening, but you're the one jumping to conclusions. I have even received emails from this guy, trying to impersonate Al. I guess thats enough evidence from one of the members. BTW, I thought that this site was only 1 year old(this month).

P.S. I'm not here to defend Al and Miles. I just have to say what is right, from what I have read.

I am not here to defend elias nor jump into any conclusion. I saw old threads from Feb 2002, before you joined in Aug, that elias was attacked by Al & others when he kindly advised others on old vs new Ovation.

While we can't see what he did to you or others, we can see what people started personal attack on him in the note below. Regardless of what happened, it just doesn't look good on them.

Alpep, Miles,

Now see what you started.
Its not enough that I have to run out and buy duct tape because the terrorist alert level went up. It’s not enough that I cant come home and watch the evening news without the French, Germans, Russians, and the hole Muslim world telling me I’m the bad guy. It’s not enough that I have to skip through five telemarketer phone calls every day just to see if a real person called me. It’s not enough that I have to go through a spam killer program, an ant virus program and a firewall program just to sit down and relax for a few minutes to try to enjoy the fan club postings. Just when I thought we were done talking about the fan club terrorist, the subject returns and now it sounds like you’re the bad guys. If this keeps up were going to have a Phantom fan club and the terrorist win.

Ralph,

Let me polite but firm. Your posting is totally without merit. If you feel like pursuing this further I recommend you contact some of the members by email and discuss the subject privately. Then post your thoughts.

Mike

Ralph, You need to remember that much of the relevant posts in the archive have been deleted, either by elias himself or by the people who run the board. So unless you actually read them at the time the archive in this case does not present the entire picture. Some of this guy's actions, apart from being childish, offensive & annoying, constitute criminal activity & I think I speak for the entire membership when I say good riddance.

Ralph:

As you can see from our membership numbers (both well below 100), Paul T. and I have been active on this board for a long time (as far as the board life is concerned).

A great deal of what was posted has been removed. I can remember a great deal of terrific postings by this memember, then suddenly, they got very personal and very mean. It appeared that he removed himself.

In January of this year, after a long absence, he started spamming the board, from several different computers that were all traced back to him. This happened on several different occassions.

Most of the offending posts were deleted. You can't see, from going through the archives, what the entire story is. I don't know that I agree with the posting of all the personal information, but the subject of that posting was doing illegal activities and, I believe, has been contacted by local authorities regarding his activities on this board.

I was going to send you a personal email as I didn't want to extend this thread, but you have none listed.

Let's get back to talking about Ovations and music and let this topic go. Please.

I believe I have the perfect solution to this problem. Let's get back to guitars! We are all Ovation fans here, and we are very fortunate to have this site to share our thoughs on Ovation guitars. Hey look I like you have enough crap to put up in our lives without attacking each other. Lets just keep jammin, and singing the praises of Ovation guitars!....Paul Hebert

Hi,
The only comment I will add is that the ONLY posts from ANYONE ever removed from this board were from Elias and ONLY because they contained either lude or profane attacks, or led to a server crash. I'm not a prude (I am a sailor) and I do not believe in censorship, but posting on a public message board (in detail) how members should consume their own excrement (on Christmas eve no less), what they should do with relatives, and crashing the server, are not topics of guitars.
Also, your email is hidden, so you would have not reveived any of the spam that he sent either. Elias CHOSE to not be a member. Yes, early on (last July) he was afforded the opportunity to just apologize and follow our one and ONLY rule of "be kind to each other." Instead he chose harrasment and criminal activity. Please let the law enforcement community do their job, and lets get back to guitars. I have spent to many hours on this matter, and would like to just see the topic dropped. To be fair, I think continuing this thread is unfair to Elias as he cannot respond. His knowledge of Ovation guitars would have been an asset here, but that is no longer an option due to his behavior.

As far as "The Phantom" poster. I guess most folks realize that I posted that message to be sarcastic as many of us were referring to Elias as "The Phantom." I checked with Law Enforcement officials before posting, and as all of the information was available online, it may have not been "right thing to do" but it was, as stated in several messages a warning for him to cease his activity as just using a different ID was NOT masking who or where he was.

We again attempt to return to our regularly scheduled programming.
