A professional photographer was there and made some outstanding photos: http://amyaiello.blogspot.com/2008/10/kaki-king-park-west-chicago-1... She is shown with her two Hamer electrics and her Adamas II 1581 prototype. Best to all-- Dave King

I coulda handed her her water bottle I was so close. My pictures won't rival the ones in the original link from her Dad, but I'll post a full report with cell phone pics tomorrow. After the show we got to chat a bit and I encouraged her to visit the OFC. Hopefully I didn't creep her out too much and she'll stop by sometime.

I know it's a custom job but I have a nice Adamas and am having troubles gigging with it (boomy, feedback, bad high end). I've got some nice pointers from the members here and wonder if Kaki could chime in. Appreciatively.

I did not notice what the bridge looked like, narrow or wide, to give an idea on the pickup. One guitar had what looked like normal strings on it and the other had something a bit different it seemed. Pale and maybe silk 'n steel strings, dunno but they did look different. She did not have any airlocks installed. The guitars were her signature custom deep bowl with cutaway, single sided epaulets. When playing the Adamas she was not cranked up really loud, but loud enough. In other words, I figured they had some kind of notch filter thing going on. There was a large pro sound board near the mid-rear of the room with a sound guy running it, so a guess would be that he notched it. We did hear some feedback during the sound check before the show started. They played some of "Pull me out alive" and "Pink Noise" IIRC for the sound check. Her semi hollow Hamers also did not feedback even when the volume was cranked LOUD, adding to my guess that they were notching out the feedback. Her Adamas sound really great. They were not boomy at all, but they sure filled the room. As I think about it, both guitarists were playing through smaller amps (hers a G-B 30, his an old Fender Bassman) which were mic'd into the PA. So any notching would have been only on the PA if it was done on the big board. I've got pictures up of both of their pedal boards on the NING site if you want to see if there was any feedback busting there. It's probably all worth what you paid for it, but its what I recall seeing.

It has a SWEET acoustic range, great bass (I've lifted the saddle a bit for treble punch as well). So I'm gathering opinions and wisdom on how to modify the electronics. I know that I want on-board EQ and notch. Some possibilities include the old Optima or LR Baggs (so Temp) Cool Tubes (Damon) RMS KK Fishman etc. there are many very competitive products out there. So, naturally, I wondered WWKD? Or what DOES Kaki do! (what CAN'T she do?)
