Location: White Lake, Ontario | Picture this. I plan to buy an electric acoustic Adamas or Ovation (not sure which yet.... see my other post). I will also need an amp and a good recorder. I'm stricly home-based and solo but I want to record and "play with myself" (sorry...)
I'm into alternate tuning and I'm after a Preston Reed or Michael Hedges type of sound. Know what I mean ? Now what will give me that sound and record it accurately you figure ? |

Location: closely held secret | As far as I know neither Reed or Hedges did the majority of their professional recording in a spare bedroom.
If I were you I'd be looking less at an amp and more at a good quality mic and mic preamp. The recorder could be stand alone or DAW based. Doesn't really matter, as long as
A: if it's stand alone, it's a reasonably decent one, and
2: if it's a DAW, the A/D interface can make all the difference in the world. |

This is on the other Ovation Fan Club page (for music and videos) and has some information you might find useful. |

Location: Chicago | I have been enjoying my Boss Loop (RC 2) pedal. It has 16 minutes of memory so there is instant digital "play with self"; Also for instant, quality, no-hassle stereo MP3 files (built in mic) check out the ZOOM H4. Slash swears by his:) |
