FYI, fellow afficionadoes, the Ebay auction # 2530558279 is an Ovation CC163, according to the seller's response to my recent inquiry. Thought it might have been a 1613; no such luck.

Looks pretty good but it has no case!!
I have a #1613 identical to this one with the mono/stereo outputs. They are beautiful sounding instruments!

Hey Seesquare,

I see you've just won the auction for the CC163.
Let us know how it is (sound, fit & finish, condition) when you get it!! I've always wondered how the Celebrity nylons would sound!?(almost bought one but was "sniped" at the last min.) Also post some pics.

Hey you've STILL got time left to bid on the 1613 :D

DRAT!!! I'm now penniless!! Another example of my impetuousness and unfortunate timing. If the seller of the CC163 is accurate, I should have a real nice classical, though. I think I got a reasonably good deal on it, too. The charts say it was $609.00 MSRP in 1995. I have a neighbor coming over to work on my Dell, so I should be able to post some pics pretty soon. C'est la guerre!

Damn, and I could have got it for similar money!! Ah, the vicissitudes of Fate & Chance. The CC163 was meant to live with me, I guess. Yes, Mr. Goldblum, I hear you.......

Seesquare,

Don't beat yourself up on this 'cause if you would have let the CC163 "slide" to bid on the 1613 and then lost that auction.....

...Enjoy your purchase and don't worry about the one that got away 'cause there be many more GAS opportunities!!(That's the best I know how to say it 'cause I don't know them big "dollar" words like you :D )

I use "'cause" alot don't I?

Never look back, unless to see how far you've travelled." Sounds like good advice. I'll keep you all posted. Now, about that ersatz 1624 being auctioned.......
