I have a new Ovation Elite 1868 and a really dumb question: how tight should I screw the back on? Can it be too tight? Too loose? I'm tightening it so that it doesn't move around, but the screw can still be turned.

Thanks!

As long as it doesn't rattle, as far as I'm concerned. You can permanently distort those covers if they're too tight.

tight enuf not to rattle or be able to be turned by hand. But don't go too tight. It will distort as mentioned.
