Unlike what I've seen posted, in the bridge slot is just the pickup and the bone rests on top of the pick up. Please post reply. I'll check back.

By the way, the "bone" is good old genuine top secret Ovation plastic (also known as the "saddle"). If you do install a new saddle make sure the botton is perfectly flat and flush with the pickup. The pickup may be an aftermarket addition, the current Celebrity thinline pickup/saddle is a single unit. Any good guitar store should have a bone saddle blank which you can cut to size, or if you must, a pre-cut plastic version. Try Umanovs in the village. Last time I was in Brooklyn I found an intersting dealer on North Sixth, Main Drag Music, if memory serves, they had some cool lap steels & mandolins and a few Ovations

I know my guitar is at least 10 years old, and I bought it used at that time. Thanks for the tip that the serial numbers don't match the website. The pick is slim though I don't know the type, but the whole thing looks original. There's no equalizer or tuner, just tone and volume control. I'll give ovation a buzz and see what they say first. Today I went to a place here on court street in brooklyn and they want to charge me $60 bucks to make a new bone .... phew! --- I'll make myself.

Average going rate in the UK for what is actually a simple, but PRECISION job is probably around £45 ($70-ish) by a tech who understands the implications of fitting a saddle over a transducer. $60 is a very fair price. Oh, we were talking about getting BONED..... in the UK it's a lot less, as long as you aren't fussy.

However, I noticed that we didn't get a price report from Puerto Vallarta. I thought the price of a bone down there would be fairly reasonable. Converting from dollars to pesos might tax the capabilities of some. I guess 20 pesos. Bailey :D

They responded to my email and will send me the plastic saddle (aka the bone) for free! Wow. I'm glad I posted here and thanks again for all your suggestions.
