I had a reverse effect from the Jam--played some things I thought I'd really like and want, but discovered they weren't me at all.
The long necks are different, but, not me.
The FD is too deep for my shoulder, but fun to play a bit; still, not me.
However...Richard's new one might cause some severe internal distress. Not being shallow or s/s, though, keeps me out of trouble.
I know what I really want, but it's still several light years away......

I was talking to Karen and said GAS was kind of silly, but after thinking about it....playing all those others gits, I wasn't rushing to take my 1778 EliteT out of it's case--it could be set up a little better--I'm sure that would help. But realized playing Richard's that I barely noticed the wider neck and it sounded and felt really good....this could be trouble

I have one of those 'T' things I need to get rid of (purchased in a moment of weakness)--then I'll have some more cash...I know, don't hate me...I've had my 1617 Legend since 1982--that needs a little work, too. So it was awesome to sit and play so many great gits...

As Beal said--I believe I've been rurnt (NC for ruined)...I'll be thinking more along those GAS lines the next time I play with all y'all!!!

Karen, excellent point; kinda like the flip side of the coin! I also was able to 'eliminate' several gits that are highly touted (rightly so) and at one time gave me GAS.

This is a good thing!
It happened at AmeliaMatt last, one guy was dying to buy a Tak 75, but after playing one for a few hours said, "It's just not me". These are things that you usually don't discover in a store, it's just not the right environment.
The other is true too, you can spend "quality time" with a guitar and find that it really is you, which is GAS producing.

One of the really really great things about the Factory Gathering is the evenings in the hotel lobby. They go on until all hours, everybody has their best guitars out and everybody has the chance to play whatever they want. You have the opportunity to discover what's really right for you, and what's not......

In 30 years or more I never felt the need to own a 12 string til I played woz's in the lobby.

Although I might have ordered a custom ute by now if I hadn't played both jeff's and ttenn's and been completely unable to decide which I liked best. Still haven't decided.

Most people I know seem to opt for the slightly more inspirational posters but I guess it's all ice cream, eh?

You always have to wonder how Jeff finds these things.
Maybe not "how" but "why?"

The only people who ask these questions are the ones who have never met Jeff in person.

Very true. You meet the man once and all those questions are answered.

And the NEW ones you're afraid to ask.
