Chris, this is great news. We're all waiting with great anticipation. If Ovation did as good a job with your GC as they did with my DB (and I have no doubt that they did), then you are going to be blown away.

Nils, the heebie-jeebies got you first!
Thanks for your support!
BTW, got much snow yet? Colder than a welldigger's butt around here in the past 24 hours. Got another month til the solstice, anyway.
I guess my recourse is playing the new critter a lot, huh?
Keep you all posted,
Chris

Hey, Ovation STILL owes me a GC truss rod cover for my 12 string. Do you think they'ld send me one if I asked. I was over 20 years ago...

Give it a shot, Bradley! Nothing ventured....

ON OTHER FRONTS.............

The Critter has arrived!!
I couldn't be happier if I was twins!
It is spectacular. The top is perfectly matched, the neck is fast and smooth, the action & intonation are probably more than I can reasonably appreciate ("pearls before swine.."), A-bracing, AND a Jenn-U-Wine "Glen Campbell" trussrod cover!! (no, Bradley, get your own!)
Apparently the crew-signed label was a non-starter. Oh well, I'm still stoked like a my boiler's gonna bust!
This is too cool for school. All you guys are great, the Mothership Crew is great, God is in His Heaven, and I'm a pig in slop.
I promise to get some pictures done soon. Bear with me.
YIPPEE, YIPPEE, YAHOO!!!!!!!!!!
Later, gaters,
Chris

Sounds like a great ending of a thread and the beginning of a love affair. Who says Dr. Zhivago had all the fun. I would name that GC "Lara", and, of course, don't go wandering around in blizzards. Those older guitars have a irresistable aura.

Enjoy, Enjoy!

Somehow Chris, you're not as excited as I thought you'd be.

Paul, I was a bit reticent to reveal this; I wet my pants!
Oh yeah, Fellow Travelers, I bought a nice, used case for it. Y'know, the old brown ones that can survive nuclear holocaust, and airport baggage gorillas. I may well be crazy, but not stupid.
As for "Lara"; thanks for the suggestion, Bradley, but, as you recall, this critter has muy grande cajones (probably even bigger now!). Might be a case of "A Boy Named Sue", or something.

OK, Guys, for what it's worth; I posted two images of the reburbished critter. The pictures, with a webcam, really suck, but here's proof I'm not a total "whack job". I did actually get the critter fixed. I promise to get some better images posted when the digital camera is available (my Spousal Unit is a rubber-stamper, and takes pictures of EVERYTHING!!!!)
In the meantime, I may be found touching my guitar in very evocative ways- don't look!
Chris
