I just took a look at the web address www.brusabass.com on the photos & the Tele is right there, it's a '77 owned by an American bass player, not someone in Indonesia, and it certainly doesn't appear to be for sale. http://www.brusabass.com/gear_77tele.html You'd think a good scam artist would have spotted that web address on the pics. Hey Moody, need a partner?

It may be real fender but a recent fender tribute to a 70's model. Worth about 700 USD. I can't say for sure. But as they say, the provenence of this thing is dubious. The body looks in too good a condition. Mine has dents, dings divets, sans, original papers, lost in the mists of time. I'd ask the seller about what the body construction, what kind of wood, and to fax you the documentation that came with the guitar, it's in the picture afterall!

He's would know it's value. Something here stinks, I'd stay well away unless you can talk directly to the owner. Shouldn't be difficult via his website, the address is on the pics, shoot him an email & ask if he knows someone is offering his Tele for sale. Someone has copied the pics fron the guys site to use on a bogus auction

They play great. And while I love the tele, I think, after lurking this site, if I ever get another solid body, it'll be a Hamer. I loved cheap trick in college.

There isn't a fretboard overlap, there are 21 frets on the neck not 22, it's just the angle of the pic. Points 2 & 4 are common to Fenders of the era, point 2 is down to typicaly sloppy assembly. Point 4, the cutout you refer to, is access to the neck-rod nut and found on many Fenders with rod adjustment at the body. Take a look at the guy's website, the guitar is legit except that in this case the asshole offering it for sale doesn't actually own it.
