This morning I was surfing YouTube and found myself exploring Ian Anderson & Tull clips.
VERY interesting stuff. This guy sounds more like a college professer than a rock star. He has the pipe thing going, all he needs is the tan jacket with the elbow patches. This is a good starting point..... Anderson Interview

I caught Jethro Tull at Newcastle City Hall perhaps 5 years ago. Ian and the rest of the band gave an excellent performance. You know that the band (and the audience!) aren't getting any younger when they announce at the beginning that 'there will be an interval' half-way through the show! Sensible, and rather genteel, though. Good show too.

I didn't even know who Ian Anderson was until someone here saw a photo of me (with Ozwatto) and said I looked like him.

I just read an interview with Tony Iommi. He played with Jethro Tull for a very short stint. He was saying that though he's still good friends with Ian, he didn't like the vibe of the band. It seems the rest of the band wasn't even allowed to eat with Ian. They had to keep their distance at most times.

Anderson is a very good acoustic player and he used to have a very good voice before damaging it quite some time ago.

Check out the older recordings - like from around Minstrel in the Gallery back.

I saw them here about 3 years ago - very good show and I've seen them probably 10-15 times before that.
