It belongs to a drummer & he had enough trouble figuring out if it had a V neck or standard & didn't know what a nut was so he could tell me how wide it was. We have that sorted out for the most part (he's pretty sure it's a standard shaped neck & he came up with a nut width of 1-5/8, which I imagine is really 1 11/16ths) but I'm sure he isn't going to know if it's a mid or deep bowl so I thought I'd ask you "guys in the know". tia, /\/\/

Joined: March 2002 Posts: 1380 Location: Central Oregon | Thanks Paul. I knew it was an acoustic/electric Custom Balladeer from the reference guide. I assumed it wasn't a super shallow, but I couldn't tell from the ref. section about the bowl depth. I like the looks of it. Is there a way I could tell what bowl it has from the model number or is that just something you knew from experience? /\/\/ Btw, did you ever find that Smothers Bros. tape or am I out of luck? My GC tape should be here any time now....

When the shallow bowls came in, the numbers changed. I haven't found the tape yet. It's been busy here, but it should ease up after next weekend. I've got a ton of work to do, 2002 taxes to get out by Friday, and my wife and I are headed to Santa Barbara for the weekend for our 14th wedding anniversary. After that, I'll look. In the meantime, can I offer you an MP3 of Mason Williams playing Classical Gas?

I like this guitar, but I think I'd like it better if it had a 5 piece neck & more holes. (No, shooting a few more in it wouldn't be the same!) Obviously I've been selling unused crap like I mentioned earlier & I'm getting together a little cash for a 6 string O. Come to think of it, maybe I should explain what I think I would like, that approach worked when I asked about the 12 string Elite :) I would like a guitar like my Elite 12, (ac/el leaftop, 5 piece neck, cutaway), only with six strings & either a mid or deep bowl. I need something I can reasonably expect to find in reasonably nice condition somewhere for between 300 & 500 bucks (tops) What am I looking for? I'm lucky, my wife is a licensed tax preparer. Happy Anniversary! MP3: YES PLEASE :) Thanks Paul! /\/\/

It has the 5 piece neck, and the old one volume control electronics. I really wish I could tell you how good this old guitar sounds.

I do have a problem with money burning a hole in my pocket. It's bad when you're on fire & you get hit with GAS :p /\/\/
