Location: Waurika OK | I saw Paul Wag's post about the Matt Smith chop shop in Sherman, TX. Not too far from where I live. I went to Matt's site and found he was having one the next day, Oct. 21, in Oklahoma City. So Paul, I won't get to meet you in Sherman.
Searched out posts on previous chop shops, sounds like great fun.
It's about 100 miles from here to OKC. I made reservations, tickets $5 in advance $7.50 at the door, for me and my son who lives in Yukon. Then I get to spend the night with him, so I don't have to drive back that night.
Any other Oklahoma or north Texas OFC'ers going to Ok. City? |

Just saw this post today (after I did a search for chop shop). Enjoy the clinic! Looks like there is a Ovation giveaway at the OK City one. I'm still planning on going to Sherman... |

I am looking forward to the chop shop. I called the store where it will be held, they did not know for sure what guitar was going to be given away, but thought it might be a 247 or 257. He also said not many had signed up yet. So I might have a good chance to win! Of course, there might be a lot show up that night. |

Location: Waurika OK | Had a great time in OKC lsast night at the chop shop. Enjoyed watching Matt play, in addition he is a great teacher, makes it simple and fun, and a real down to earth guy. Go to a chop shop if you ever get the chance.
The clinic was at Best Price Guitars in Oklahoma City. They have a huge selection of Ovation instruments and Genz Benz amps. Also many other brands, some real beautys and some high dollar. They are located on I 40 west of OKC.
Ovation OKC rep was there also, very friendly guy, sorry I can't remember his name.
The guitar was won by a teenage girl, we were all happy for her. |
