Viper
I don't know if you can tell be looking at the pictures or not, but the ad states it's an alder body with a maple neck.
Just curious, but it's a fine looking Viper. |

I noticed that it doesn't have the etching on the pickguard. After-market? |

Location: Las Cruces, NM | The serial # says after 1975 before 1980 (late), the chrome bridge says something as mine is brass, (pre 1975 (Feb)). Many necks were maple fretboard around the time of mine, is this one ebony or rosewood? Somebody mentioned the chrome bridge in an earlier post way back. Curious about the lack of "Viper" engraved in the pickgaurd as every one I've seen had it. Moodypi bought a replacement pickgaurd but I can't remember if he ever said whether or not it had the "Viper" engraved on it.

Location: The Great Pacific Northwest | Anything is possible, but to me it looks like it's been re-finished, but that's a guess because I have never seen a satin finish VIper. The pickguard also looks aftermarket as although I think they even had some from the factory without the "Viper" engraved, the knob placement looks wrong. |

Location: 6 String Ranch | That's a factory p/g. Who would go to the trouble of doing an aftermarket one? There were some with no names made. The knobs are in the right place. This is version 2. Version 1 had the switch up like a tele. It sure does look like mahogony and it looks like the neck is dark too. I don't remember and mahogony viper necks but that doesn't mean there weren't any. |

This is a later body since there isn't a hole in the back for the bridge anchor and it has the tummy cut. |
