The neck has a thin profile, and it feels very much like an electric guitar neck. It is very easy to play, the best playing Ovation I have had so far. The top is beautiful. I have gotten alot of complements on how it looks. Only bad part about that is that some people want to touch the top. I am kinda paranoid about that. I don't want this baby scratched. The OP40 preamp is also excellent. You can really dial in a nice tone. I can find no faults with this guitar. To sum it up, it is very well made, looks great, sounds great, and is easy to play. In short, it is an OVATION!

Remember those dot pictures that turn into a 3-D object if your sorta look through them ... you can do that with this top and make it look about 6 inches deep. And that's before I ingest any foreign substances! Looks aside, it plays great. It has a woodier sound than most other O's I've played, but still gets pretty bright on the top end. I love the Optima preamp and XLR out ... very convenient. The construction is awesome, with nice detailing. Noting too special ... bound rosewood fretboard, gold tuners, 5 piece neck ... but very alluring. I was looking at Elites when I saw this one, and there was no question from that moment forward. I'm sure those with finely tuned ears can catch the sound difference between this and solid spruce, but it sounds just perfect to me.

Does anyone know if mine was the last one made? Kinda strange Ovation shows 732 2002 collectors, and mine is 733.

They sound pretty dang good for a "laminate" don't they?... I love that "electric" neck. When my hands get worn out playing anything else, I can pick my collectors up, and play a bit more... All of the good pictures I have, have been pinched, hehe... I'll try to take some of my own and post them soon. Dale
