The musician originally scheduled to appear cancelled and Kaki was apparently on their short list. Serendipity helped--her final Mike Gordon show is tonight in NYC at Irving Plaza. Conan's show also airs on Comedy Central tomorrow at 6pm. Dave King

Konan seemed very impressed but the audience that counts, gave her a very solid and loud applause, and she was playing her Ovation and it sounded very good. All in all, a very good appearance on a nationwide show, and she, IMHO, outshone the rest of the guests. She gave a blast of fresh air to what was becoming boring. Bailey

No ignorant speech about "new artist" or "rising talent." He presented her just as Kaki King, leaving the average viewer in the position of not wanting to be the one idiot on the block (or at the coffee pot tomorrow morning) to ask "who was that?".. They are thinking she's on Conan, she's obviously "somebody" and I better get up to speed. That's the way it should be done, and Kaki better be prepared for the big rush that's going to happen.

Probably not, I have enough trouble playing a good solid B without thinking about playing it with my RIGHT HAND while tapping on the strings with my left. Great Job!

Sure made Kaki look like a little girl with a BIG guitar standing next to her "daddy"... whatever her physical stature, her stature as a musician is unsurpassed! tim

So, to all who have inquired: Conan's show is rebroadcast today (Friday) on Comedy Central at 6pm (EDT). Kaki appears in the last 10 minutes. More later. Dave King

I taped it and watched it over a few time wondering how such a small woman has such strong hands! Really good stuff. Did everyone see Conan checking our her Adamas at the end of the show?

Never having heard a note from Ms. King before, my expectations were pretty high--I was not disappointed. Tons of talent in a tiny package. I'd love to see her in Boulder, but I'm right in the middle of finishing my basement and trying to complete it before Thanksgiving. I'll try to find her CD and listen to some more though. If anyone hasn't seen it and missed their chance, I'd be willing to transfer it to VHS, make a list of those who want to see it, and once someone has seen it they can send it on to the next person who wants it. Anyone? Definitely worth me donating a tape and some postage so that others can check it out. Good weekend to all. Todd

I want you to have her cd--privately email your mailing address and I'll get one to you. Btw, she played near Ft. Collins twice earlier this year: http://www.mishawakaconcerts.com/ The guitar Conan was admiring is indeed an Adamas II 1581-7, built for her by Ovation in December 2002. The closeup camerawork of it was very fine, didn't you think? I hope the members who didn't see the show take you up on your offer to share her performance. Dave King

Does the OFC web site have any way of hosting it? Otherwise, I could put it up on some web space I have here. Just a thought BL
