I have a nephew named Montana who is learning to play. I bought him a new Takamine a few months ago, but this looks like it's going to go cheeeep. He could tell his girlfriend he had it custom made :)

worth about $35.
The fact that it has Nato and Agathis woods usually indicates Asian made.

As far as I know it has no connection to Kaman.

Nils,
I have seen some of the Montana guitars in stores, but have never picked one up.
However, the claim that they were made by Kaman aroused my interest.
I could not find any reference to Montana guitars on the Kaman site. I did find reference in Music Yellow Pages:
Montana Guitars/kamanmusic.
When I went for more info, this is what I got:
kaman music
PO Box 507
Bloomfield, CT 06002
800-647-2244
So I called the number, the lady I talked to said they were a distributor, not Kaman the manufacturer.
I ask her point blank,"Are the Montana guitars made by Kaman, the people that make Ovation guitars?" Her answer was, "Yes, they are."
I think BruDev is probably about right in his assesment of value and quality.
Maybe I am wrong but there seems to be something "fishy" about this claimed connection to Kaman.
Anyone else have more info?
