My OP-30 on my Balladeer 6-string was evidently a little "manhandled" at the Guitar Center where I bought it. The sliding "lid" that holds the battery in place has had the "slot retainer" broken/smashed thus the only way to keep the lid on is to use tape each time I change batteries.

I assume I will need to replace the complete OP-30 in order to fix this right? I don't see any way to just replace the battery compartment... advice?

thanks,

tim

If you bought the guitar new from GC & it arrived to you in that condition, it should be their responsibility to make right.

I agree, however I didn't notice it until I needed to replace the battery the second time... if it was there when I brought it home, I missed seeing it...

If I need to (eventually) replace the OP-30, would it be possible/advisable to replace it with the OP-40? Are they interchangable? Or is there that much difference to care about?

The main difference between the two is that the Op40 has a very useful & highly effective feedback notch filter. Theres also some slight differences in the frequencies the Op30 sliders and pre-shape function are centred at compared to the 40 & 50. They are interchangable

Thanks Paul,

Being relatively new to this BB, what would be the best route to buy an OP-40? I know there are active dealers on this Board....

thanks,

tim
