I just returned from a vacation in Nashville last week. During my trip through the Country Music Hall of Hame, I found that they have one of Glen Campbell's 6-string Ovations on display in a case there.
They do not allow pictures to be taken in the museum, so unfortunately I could not take one to post here. The guitar does not have any label in the sound hole, says "Custom" on the headstock, and has a smooth back. Couldn't see any other identifying marks.
Just wanted you all to know that Ovation is represented along with the large number of Martins and Gibsons in there. |

On my GC Classical from 1970, the square label is not in the usual place, but is on the upper (bass) inside area of the bowl. I have no idea why or if that is the case with the CMHH guitar, but it's a possibility.

It is quite possible that the label is where you stated. The guitar is in a glass case, with dim lighting, so it would not be easy to verify that. The guitar is on a normal type guitar stand, headstock up.
In case you don't know, the Museum moved to a brand new building in 1999, and I believe they have expanded the displays. They even had the "flag" Takamine that Toby Keith used for the 2003 CMA awards. |
