I have an Ovation Balladeer, 6 string, non-electric... and have no clue about guitars. I would like to list it for sale and all I have is the serial # and the model # which is 1312. Other than it is greenish in color and has a rounded back, what I've stated thus far is all I know about this guitar. I'm hoping someone in this forum can help me with additional info as well as what it's worth because no one at any of the places I've taken it to has a clue. The darned thing isn't listed in any book. It is in MINT condition; like brand new. I'd appreciate any input to this mystery. My e-mail is boxersbabe@hotmail.com
Thanks,
Kathryn

i recently bot a 1312d from a pawn shop in georgia over e-bay. it is in "mint" condition and i paid $175 for it (plus shipping). I felt it was a fair price and i am generally pleased with it. it had horrible strings on it, which i had to replace, but i expected that. it had no case (which i don't need anyway), but if yours does, you can't expect much for it, if anything. you certainly can't use it without the guitar!

hope that helps...

Thanks for your comment, but it's not a 1312d. It has no other letters or numbers with it. Still patiently waiting for additional comments out there about this guitar. I'd appreciate anything I can get about this.

Kathryn, It's either a Balladeer Special or an Ultra from '82/83. Intended as an entry-level USA-made guitar and as such it has a laminated top & a neck of urethane foam over an aluminium casting. Made for a couple of years before Ultra production went offshore. A realistic value for an acoustic only version in good shape is $200 max. Click on the search link above & do a search on "Matrix" to find out more about the neck construction.

Paul,
Thank you for the information. I listed it on eBay for $130ish, so my guess was close. It is in A-1 condition and I am including the case. It's really going to waste sitting here so I hope someone somewhere has an appreciation for this guitar and bids!
