King is performing at Joe's Pub. Seems like a $12 cover, no drink min. Never been there. Those people there are so arty I don't even know if it's really a Pub. But it's on Oct 23 at 7pm one performance. Never heard of Raul though.

A friend of mine (also from Jersey) trekked into the city very psyched to see Kaki for this show last night. He got there at 7:45 only to find she went on at 7 and played for a half and hour or so. He was pretty bummed because he was really looking forward to it. We've been trying to coordinate going to one of her shows for a while.

No one's fault but his, just a bummer. I really wanted to go with him too, but couldn't this time. But I never would have realistically made it into the city for a 7pm show after a workday.

Interesting, most shows in Jersey don't start before 7:30-8, and probably more like after 9 if it's in a local bar. In the city, showtimes seem all over the place. I've had to wait til 2am to see a friend play for 30 minutes, after seeing 5 acts before his. Couldn't tell you the last time I heard of someone scheduled for 7pm on a weekday, unless it was a happy hour show.

Anyway, we're still planning to see her the next time she's around-I'm sure he'll be checking start times before we make the trek.

(by the way he still enjoyed the performers who played the rest of the night)

Johnny
