I think if they had been there a month ago I probably would have bought one.

Not there a month ago?? The seller has been selling these reconditioned 2003 for several months. Not a single bid! For some unknown reason, he does not know the serial numbers of these guitars.

Musta missed seeing them early on. I first saw them a few weeks ago. Odd deal about the numbers. I wonder what's up with that? Maybe it would be a good idea to ask the factory about 'em?

The seller has pretty good feedback (98.6%)& most of the few complaints are about slow shipping. Annoying, but not a major problem. Many people commented on speedy shipping, but things go wrong sometimes in spite of the best efforts. He has rectified some problems to the customers satisfaction. With 600 feedbacks he probably has done upwards of 2,000 sales, (gauging from what Alpep says he receives). I would guess that of the people that didn't leave feedback, very few had any complaints or they would have most likely said so. He probably has employees that are occasionally less than perfect too. Still wouldn't hurt to ask the factory about the numbers.

Al can probably sell you a brand new one for around $800. He has one on eBay. Maybe $750 for forum member :-)

2004 is coming out soon. Prices on 2002 & 2003 have been dropping. Too bad, my 2001 & 2002 are still brand new in box.

That would be great, but I haven't even gotten my 1612 yet! :) According to UPS tracking it will be here Friday though. Buying guitars at my house is sorta like trout fishing-five's a limit. My wife is great, but when she starts counting guitar cases & has to use two hands one of 'em better belong to somebody else, & it better not be here long either! :)

I always keep my guitars out on stands, but ALWAYS keep the cases (and guitars) scattered in differnet parts of the house so nobody does a headcheck. It also helps to keep everything neat and tidy. If it' pleasing to the eye then nobody gives it a second thought.

I always keep mine is their cases. It's safer. You must not have any nephews, dogs or wives with vacuum cleaners running around in your house. Besides, one of the reasons 5 is a limit here is because of lack of space. If I take 'em out of the cases I'd be limited to two & a half guitars :) Once I get the new shop built I'll have room to stash a few more maybe :)

While I'm here-

I just talked to the guys at the guitar store in Bend. The fiddle is done, the bow is done & the Kalamazoo is done. Only $171 for the whole shebang. I was expecting closer to $250. I'll pick it all up this evening. My 1612 should be here tomorrow too. Life is good :)

I've got a wife, two kids, two dogs, and a mortgage I can't afford. Everybody is terrific about the guitars. The key is keeping them out of traffic area. I've got two on stands in my upstairs hallway that are going on a wall this weekend (along with two Ovation electrics -- I'll post a pic when the project is done).

One problem with keeping the guitars out on stands or hanging on the wall (which I do) is what the hell do you do with so many empty cases? Dave

The cases make good places to put the kids when you're tired of them.

Cliff, you dirty old man (actually you and I are the same age). By "child" I of course was referring to a guitar. Paul once told me that his guitars were like children to him. So THERE. Now go back to cable channel X. Dave

I don't know about slot heads, but sometimes I think my kids have holes in their heads. But then they think that about me sometimes too.
