Location: Yucaipa, California | Could someone please post a list that shows the Ovation Model Names and Country of Origin with the different Model/Country equivalent?
something like this:
Celebrity/Korean = Legend/USA
There are too many names for a newcomer like me to keep straight without a list...
thanks

here's the Quick Rundown
Celebrity Models including The Celebrity and Celebrity deluxe, The Tangent models, The Pinnacle and Pinnacle Deluxe, and The My Other Board models are made in Korea.
They also manufacture a Mandolin, an AcousticBass and at onetime a Longkneck.f anyone
USA Models are Balladeer, Legend, Elite, Custom Legend and Custom Elite.
The Country Artist and Folklore Deluxe are also USA Models.
Ovation USA also makes a Mandolin, a Longkneck, and an Acoustic Bass.
All Adamas guitars are usa made as well.f I left anything off or anyone has something to add Please do.
Hope this Helps

Location: The Great Pacific Northwest | I think Tim is actually looking for a correlation between the USA and Import line. As example, what might the import version of the Elite be called?
I don't think there is a concious model per model reference. THe import line exists to meet the needs of the the players looking for a quality instrument with a lower budget. There are some designs that are similar, but I think that is more a function of coincidence. Lets face it, a Sunburst top with epulets is going to pretty much look the same (at a quick glance) no matter where it's made. |

Location: Yucaipa, California | I'm just trying to develop my Ovation I.D. prowess... I certainly don't want to do the unforgivable and call a Legend a Celebrity! I'd end up in the East River with concrete boots!

Location: Central Oregon | I played what I at first thought was a Celebrity the other day, turned out it was an Applause, said so right on the headstock. (I wish they'd do that with Celebritys.) The Applause was a pretty nice feeling little guitar. It was just a tad plainer than the Celebrity a few hangers down. Didn't plug it in.
