Hi,

How much is a 1977 Sunburst Ovation 1612-1 worth?

The neck is ok, maybe needs new frets.

Reapaired crack on top.
Thanks

"Worth" is in the eye of the purchaser. I also have an Ovation 1612 Custom Balladeer, but it's in excellent shape and with a natural color top. Check out the reference section, which has a very cool listing of suggested retail prices from 1971-2002 that can be used as guide in determining what an Ovation guitar originally sold. The 1612 in 1977 retail for $510. Ovations hold their value, adjust for the defects. Can you post a picture of it in the Member Access area?

Irishbreakfasttea:

I'm responding not to your question but rather to your Screen Name. My wife and I spent a week in 2001 motoring through The Republic of Ireland (then 2-weeks through Scotland and England). My wife's grandparents were from Bailieborough Ireland.

When I saw your screen name, all those wonderful memories of B & B "Full Irish" breakfasts came flooding back.... mushers, beans, fried tomatoes, potatoes, porridge, toast fingers.... Irish Breakfast Tea!

Thanks for the memories....

I just bought a 1612-4 in pretty nice shape for $361 off the bay.
