Were I to travel to New Hartford and personally submit my specifics/preferences/details for a USA Ovation, do you think they would be inclined to accomodate me?

Sorry to kibbitz, but......money talks. I'm sure they would listen to the 'talking heads' of a few $1K bills.
Book your flight, Steve!
Good hunting,
Chris

Call them and talk about it first. Phone calls are always cheaper than airfare. Besides that way you don't have to take your shoes off and be wanded and patted down. If they decide to build it the order would probably need to be placed through an authorized dealer. If you're nice to Al he may do that for you. Good Luck and let us know how you make out.

in reference to custom orders I have priced out a few. There have been some that they refused to make and others that they were glad to. (although the customers have not come through to place the orders)
if you give me the specs I could submit them and price out the guitar OR you can get any authorized dealer to submit the specs and get you a price.
If I can help you let me know.
good luck

Thanks for the replies and advice, gentlemen; My observance of fan club dialog over the past year has suggetsted that Ovation Instruments may be quite different now than it was when I was kid; whenever I had a question back then I would just call 'nancy'(if memory serves me correctly) and she would provide the information or parts that I needed. Hopefully I will be afforded the same courtesy in the future.

It's encouraging that someone else remembered nancy, as it has been many years since we talked; perhaps ovation will still be as amiable...

Nancy isn't there anymore. Now it's Kim. Don't say Kimmy, he'll punch you.

Nancy has not been at Ovation for quite sometime. The last I knew she was there was back in the early 90's.

I'm going to guess that that last honestly came out wrong.

Now I'm sorry I asked about Nancy; I honestly remebered her as a reliable help when I needed specific technical advice or parts for my guitars....
