Location: Hong Kong | Here in Hong Kong, there had been a guitar players playing Ovation Guitars for many years. He belongs to a local popular Rock Band for many years but now released as a Singer & Song Writer.
The local Music Shop here called Tom Lee which is the only one dealer for Ovation in Hong Kong is now coordinating with Ovation to produce a Signature model for him but limited to the market in Hong Kong.
So the total production no. will only be around twenty something...
This is what I know about the Ovation Guitars in this city. There had been a lot of loyalty to Ovation in the pass but now most of the players turn to Martin Guitars. The Martins are selling real fast in here.

What kind of Martin are they buying? Low-end models or D28? |

I haven't seen the guitar yet but I heard that it is the similar to Adamas style with a different cutaway shape. a "P" for "Paul" on the guitar top indicate the name of the player. Of course, the guitar player himself gave some input on the design.
In Hong Kong , the higher end the Martin models are, the faster they will be sold. Such as the Golden Era model, Limited model , Brazillian wood model. Recently, there arrived a oo-45S which list price is US$ 25000. |

Location: The Shop | The guitar is a 1597 for Paul Wong. The major change on this guitar was that the fingerboard is scalloped from the 12th fret to the end of the neck. It was rather interesting to see the results of this! |

Location: San Francisco, CA | Sounds good ... Ovation should have a new signature guitar for the US. How many prospective customers care or know of the Al or ME model? It would be interesting to see Jon Bon Jovi play his own Ovation signature model next to Richie. Interesting Ovation v Taylor scene. |

Too bad the chance of Ovation producing one which says 'Martin' on the headstock is zero.
:)
BTW: don't know whose signature this is (think it's a custom order for this shop), but IMO it looks rather interesting with the foggy epaulettes and the inlay.
