Location: St. Petersburg, FL USA | This is good to know. What would you "typically" (if there is such a thing...) set the Ovation knob at, in that case... maybe 5 or so??? |

Location: Scotland | When I use my acoustic amp which is Gallien Krueger 200MV, it is fed by a mixer pre-fade auxilliary send rather than the guitar output. My guitars go to a sub-mix, then to the PA & monitors and/or the GK, but at a guess the guitar preamp level is around "7". The mixer input gain is then set to see an output meter reading of 0dB.
Nothing is written in stone, these are just guidelines, every system will vary, but with acoustic amps and PA systems clean headroom is paramount, and attempting to operate at "zero dB" throughout the signal chain is a good idea. |
