Does anyone know what the approximate cost of buying an OP24+C preamp?
I've got an Elite S778 coming with the standard OP24 electronics and I'd love to have the tuner built in. I've got a number for Ovation Cust. Service but I'd like to get an idea of what I'm getting myself into first. I thought someone would know of another source.
Any ideas?
Thanks,

Breeze

I was told it was $150 with the factory to do the install. They didn't tell me to buy it out right though.

They pop up on ebay occasionally.

Another option would be to get an inline tuner (Boss makes a nice one for about $75). Or, not to offend, but just do it old fashioned way by ear. I have a Korg rack tuner that also works inline and does a nice job.

Boss TU-2 Chromatic Tuner.

Just bought one a couple of weeks ago, and it's GREAT. Very accurate, and very easy to read in low-light situations. It's a LOT easier to just glance down at the floor (especially while playing) than to have to tuck your chin into your chest to look at the side of the bowl. I like the fact that you can just silently "punch out" of the live mix, tune-up easily with no one hearing and then just punch back in at the volume you left at.
Makes it a HELL of a lot easier to get my 12-string tuned at a gig. I've got both of my guitars plugged into a Boss A/B shitch and then right into the tuner. It's great unit!!

I bought mine from the factory for $150.00, and installed it in about 15 minutes...
Kim gave brief, but helpful instructions over the phone...
If you can change strings, I think you could do this...

And, conversely, impossible to read under bright light, as I found out to my cost a couple of years ago at a festival gig on an outdoor stage in blazing sunshine. Now every time I play outdoors I make a little duct-tape sun-shade for it. The TU2 is the best tuner on the market, bar none. Nice feature is the DC out, so if you run it from a wall-wart you can power a bunch of other pedals from it.

Yeah, I saw the TU-2's...I think that might be the easiest way around it. And tuning on stage IS the main reason for wanting one.
I've seen the Boss tuner for around $50-60 on Ebay.
Thanks all.
