Location: Lower Mainland, Vancouver B.C. | Well I already am a proud Ovation owner, but I have just bought a vintage Ovation 12 string Celebrity model. It's on it's way from NC as I write this. I'm hoping someone may know this model (I do not have the model No. yet). But it has a Celebrity Logo on the headstock, and a Blue gradated label reading Celebrity by Ovation.
Also it has separate Volume & Tone controls on the side. Note: the fellow who sold it to me says he plugged it in and the preamp did not work.
I (from Past experiences) think its a battery that has sat for 10 years. I'm amazed how mans guitarists do not know preamps use batteries. And on this model its totally hidden from view as well.
Now it you have a model like this could you tell me a bit about it, how old, when they made these.
I have never seen a Celebrity Headstock Logo before (although its just the Ovation Logo with the word Celebrity instead).
I have a Celebrity Deluxe 6 string here now and the inner label is very simular.
Also its got the round hole, no cutaway and the big black & white leaf rosette.
Thanks in advance for any information you can share. |

Location: Tennessee | A somewhat rare bird, I'd say. There was a discussion a couple of years back about a six string model that was real similar from the sounds of it. The general consensus was that they were pretty well made as they were some of the first of the new line coming out of the Korean factory and the locals were aiming to please the suits and cowboy boot wearers in CT. |
