6 string, serial #267 that is in near-mint condition. I bought it used in 1986 and have the certificate of authenticity.
Are there any other Ovation fan club members out there that own this model? Can anyone tell me what the value of it is on today's market? It is not for sale however, just curious on what the value is.

I have owned several '86 Collectors, and one in mint condition with the original Certificate of Authenticy may go from $400 to $800, depending on how badly someone wants it at the moment. Since nearly 2000 of these were made, they are not particularly rare.
On a very mundane and personal note, I played a 1986 Collectors' for a season in a western band review. We wore white hats and vests, and two of us played white finished Ovation. My '86 Collectors' with the pearl sparkle finish looked the best under the stage lights, tho!
Keep it in good shape and it will be of value. |
