Location: Tennessee | I have a 1983 1311 with electronics that has a volume control only (on the top of the bowl near the neck). I also have a 2000 Collectors and a 6759 CL12, both with Optimas. I like the flexibility of the EQ on the Optimas (and easy battery change!), but when I listen to them all completely flat, somehow the simple unit on the 1311 seems to sound better than the newer units. Maybe it's just me?
Can anyone shed any light on what pickup/preamp I have in the 1311?
Also, during the factory tour in March, there was some information dropped that Ovation was going to reintroduce the original pickup/preamp on some new guitars. Anyone heard anything on that, and why Ovation would be doing this? |

Location: Lafayette, Louisiana | Stone, of all the Ovations I have owned or played, my 1979 model 1619 Custom Legend sounds the best to me plugged in. It has the old stereo electronics with the concentric volume and tone controls. This guitar is sweet either plugged in or not. |
