Location: Indiana | Is it just me, or does it bug anyone else when an ebay seller has a nice guitar and doesn't even seem to know what it is? I've been watching ebay for a while for a Josh White or Folklore and saw this today...
Ovation Vintage 1966 Guitar
Then the ad starts out buy saying it's a 1968 1624-4 Josh White model...with electronics  . I'd love to have a 1968 Josh White...but this sure looks like a slightly newer Country Artist to me. It just kinda bugs me when sellers can't even go to the Ovation website and do a little research before they advertise. It is a nice guitar though.

Location: Phoenix AZ | Mark, I agree with your frustration. But you know, sometimes it works out to the buyers advantage when the seller has no idea of how valuable his item may be. Imagine the following eBay listing:
Ovation Fiberglass Guitar with Classical Neck
Buy It Now Price of $500.
What if it turned out to be a slothead Adamas ???
If you are seriously interested in buying a 68 Josh White, please email me. I have a really nice one in great condition that I would be willing to sell. Photo is in the gallery. It's as nice of a Josh White as you will ever find. Even the case (original Lifton case) is in great shape.

Location: Indiana | LOL....you have a point there, Dave. It's hard to tell how many valuable instruments have been sold for next to nothing in rummage sales or pawn shops because the owners didn't know what they were.
I'll be in touch about the Josh White.
thanks |

The bridge doesn't look like a Josh White...

Location: Scotland | It's a Folklore, which was esentially a re-issued Josh White. The orginals had 5-point rosewood bridges |

Location: Indiana | The person selling the Country Artist is selling it on consignment. I wrote them not to complain, just to inform and he was appreciative and curious. The Country Artist is a nice guitar but it isn't a Josh White. I saw the Folklore mentioned. It appears kind of beat up. I know where an early Folklore is that I can get pretty cheap but it has a few top issues. I may see what a new top would cost. A musicgoround has it and had it advertised as a classical but after talking to the guy, I'm sure it's a folklore. I spotted an ad that said "1114-4 classical" and called to ask some questions.
