Location: Phoenix AZ | OK, this probably does not qualify as a "quality" Ovation sighting, but I was watching Britney Spears on SNL last night (so shoot me). Her rhythem guitar player was playing a nylon stringed Ovation. Looked like a SS 1863. So, yes nobody was really playing or singing - it was all lip-synched. But the song has a pretty prominate nylon guitar strumming and at least someone had the good sense to put a real nylon string guitar in the guys hands. Dave |

At least Ovation got some air time....but I bet hardly anyone noticed. |

Location: Indiana | LOL...I was sipping a brew and eating my cheese sticks at my neighborhood bar last night and I noticed that the conversation a couple of guys were having at the end of the bar had stopped dead in it's tracks. They were watching Britney too and seemed to have forgotten what they were talking about. She's cute but it seemed more like a marketing segment to me than a musical one. I must have been distracted too...I didn't notice the guitar ;) |
