Location: Scotland | Just got back from one of Matt Smith's UK Ovation chop shops. Anyone who hasn't seen Matt in action should do themselves a favour & check him out next time he's around. Fantastic musicianship, yet his warmth and humorous approach meant that he didn't intimidate the novices. What really impressed me was the teaching segment. His "open-tuning 101" was truly ispired. It was great to see a room full of players suddenly going "ah, now I get it" Matt invited me to play a couple of tunes with him, which was a blast. |

Location: St. Petersburg, FL USA | Guitar workshops are awesome. I help out with one we do annually with our church. It really is cool to see new learners start to "get it." The "give and take" between the experienced players & the novices is really inspiring. I think many guitarists are just "like that," as this board proves daily. Our next one is in February & I'll post pics in the gallery when we have it. |
