Gentlemen...who came in? Remember the Stooges?
Curiosity question: Is there any noticeable difference in sound between the CVT and SMT Adamas soundboards? I own and love an SMT so I was curious if the difference between the two was real or a marketing gimmic.

I've not done a side by side but I'd guess it's just the looks that are different. Take 10 of these guitars and there will be more variation between guitars than between the woven and smoo tops. Just a guess on my part.

I bought another SMT at a guitar show yesterday because it was so cheap I couldn't resist. It sounds different to my own SMT & very different to my Adamas 1. Last time a tried an SMT & CVT side by side I thought there was a slight difference between the 2, mostly in the character of the midrange. I think part of the reasoning behind the SMT may have been to produce a more traditional-looking guitar that would appeal to those who don't like the appearance of the textured tops.

I always loved iggy pop and the stooges!!!

I think the CVT is slightly more "alive" with a little more treble response. Your mileage may vary.

I've found that the CVT transmits more vibration thru-out the range, than the SMT, which not only looks more like a wood top, but if you go to the website you can see that there is more wood in it. It has more woody properties than the CVT. That sounds funny. But you know what I mean.
