Not that I'm cynical at all, but if this a Neil Diamond "concert-used" guitar, how come it's an acoustic-only model

Because the seller, Emory Gordy Jr., an extremely well-known and respected studio bass player, said it was one he got from Diamond during the time he was working with him from '72 - '77, and Diamond wouldn't have been playing an amplified model that early on. Chances are, if you figure it out, Gordy bought it off Diamond when he made the move to a model with a pickup.

Granted, $7,000 is a bit pricey, but Gordy has seen firsthand how crazy some of Diamond's fans actually are. You'll notice the description is more of a sale job on Diamond than the actual guitar.

And Diamond's music was great before he made the move to Columbia and became their male Barbra Streisand.

Cool. I love Neil! Al, you're right though, he can't play much. Writing, on the other hand, is pretty easy for him.

The guitar for sale is a Legend, not a GC Artist.

If it reaches the going rate for old Legends she'll be getting something "really nice" that costs less than 300 bucks

I wouldn't care if Elvis ,the Beatles and Jesus all owned it;it's still a guitar....although if Jesus owned it I guess it would have some serious antique value.. :D

Just a wierd coincidence, QVC is featuring a Neil Diamond sale of his albums, and their promotion shows him playing two different Ovations, neither one that looks like this one. If you are interested tune in to QVC and tape the ad and then you can examine his Ovations at you're liesure.
