WOW. 1-7/8 nut it's basically a Custom Legend Country Artist. Very nice. Does that look like a standard steel string bridge? It's definately not the Classical bridge. Dave

This guitar was listed & "sold" a few weeks ago. I nearly bought it as it's quite similar to my own Custom Folklore but the bridge put me off. It's definately a steel string bridge, but the machines are the classical type. It might be worth asking the seller if the fingerboard is flat or cambered. That would establish if it is intended to be a steel or nylon string.

I would suggest this is a 'show piece' guitar; probably has the steel-sting bridge to accomodate the newer electronics and the deep bowl to enhance the natural acoustics; perhaps the bridge and bracing are constructed for nylon and steel string use as a combination country artist and folklore guitar; the price is as steep as the guitar is unique, so this is definitely a 'one of a kind' instrument.

The price is hardly "steep" for such a unique guitar. The electronics have no bearing whatsoever on the bridge design. The only difference between the pickups/electronics on an Ovation Nylon string is the saddle camber & compensation. Usually I'd have surmised that the seller saw the slot-head & assumed it was a classical guitar, but it has machines designed for nylon-strings (Schaller slot-head M6's machines for steel-strings do not have the black nylon collar around the string post) I'd be suprised if the factory installed a steel-string bridge on a guitar intended for nylon strings.

I'm sure this happens sometimes. There is a guitar listed as an "Ovation 1114 classical" at the musicgoround website. I called and asked some questions about it. The store owner assumed it was a classical guitar. It's a Folklore that someone put nylon strings on. It can probably be bought cheap because of some checking on the top but I backed off and bought the FD-14 which I am anxiously awaiting.

This Legend definitely is a "show piece" though...she's a beauty!

I stand corrected, but i have another question; didn't the steel string folklore have a wider finger board, similiar to the ovation classical finger board?; i remember playing a folklore once and it seemmed wider than my country artist...

Folklore and Country Artist have the same nut width (1-7/8). Folkore fingerboard is radiused, CA fingerboard is flat. Dave

PS - Folklore Deluxe nut width is slightly narrower (1-3/4).

Yeah, I saw that at least once. I'd go with somebody backing out of a deal & it gets relisted, but if you're right about it being relisted a third time then it's very dodgy.
