"When I get there, I'm fine. But I think it's just the traveling that that I think I'm really getting tired of."
--Country crooner GLEN CAMPBELL, saying he'd rather play golf near his Phoenix home than play gigs around America.

Whether stage, screen, or music performer - they want to perform as long as they have an audience. At least that is my observation of my family and others. Don't know how the recent negative publicity will affect his decision. I think the quote reflects on his desire to perform but the toll of being on the road.

No matter what job you have, being on the road is exciting, but makes you weary. What is that? A dilemma, a conundrum, catch-22, mystery enigma ...

or something like that.

I think Glen is just expressing what many of us retired people feel. We work for years to pay for a comfortable house and sometimes we just want to veg out and enjoy it "and let the rest of the world go by".

When do you reach the point where you are confident that you have done OK and you don't need to hear people clapping to prove it?
