Well I'll be damned. Somebody on eBay is selling MY guitar. I keep a spreadhseet of every guitar I ever owned, stats, serial numbers, etc. and I owned THIS serial number Ovation Lenend many years ago. The GC truss rod cover was the tip off. I was the 2nd owner, as far as I know. It was in mint condition when I sold it (before eBay existed - I sold it via The Guitar Exchange). Sadly it looks like it's subsequent owner(s) beat it up a little. I'm sure it still sounds great.
Man, it's wierd seeing things come around like that (this also happened on a Thunderhead some years ago, which I bought and didn't even know at the time that I had previosuly owned the SAME guitar). How crazy is THAT? Dave

That happened to me once where I was looking at a guitar and said wow the guy updated the tuners and then realized that the guy was ME.

Now after I have sold hundreds of guitars I would barely recognize them.

Cliff, Louise is doing great. She says she misses your humor but not your love making. Dave

LMAO....OUCH! Great comeback, Dave

I have to admit though...I think Cliff is a comedian disguised as a musician. It's always good to start your day with a laugh. Thanks :)

It would be interesting to find out from Ovation which they have sold more of in their history: longnecks, or 12 fret slothead widenecks. My guess is that the 12 fret slothead is more popular, especially among females who think it plays a lot better. The longbeck might be better suited for men, especially guys with long arms and big hands. Dave

You guys should know, never drink coffee while you're reading Clifford's early morning coffee. The coffee will make a comeback thru your nose as you laugh.

Dave, how long ago did you sell the Legend?

I bought it in 1980 (used) and sold it in 1995. I think it's a 1973 guitar. Dave

Dave;

I'm assuming it'll be very interesting to see what it fetches on eBay and how it's "street value" has changed (or hasn't).

btw:
Keep in mind that you can always "capo up" the Logneck to "suit your needs". ;)

Dave,

I can relate to how you felt seeing your old guitar up for sale. I had sold a Country Artist on eBay about three years ago, and then saw it back on eBay about a year later! Funny thing was, most of the text in the guy's ad / discription was from my original listing of that guitar!

I would guess I have bought back one or two of my guitars over the years. I don't recall actually doing it, but it certainly is possible.

I have tried to say this politely in other posts, but I guess I'm just going to have to say it and let the chips fall where they may.

If you are going to sell their bodies, quit climbing in bed with them and then lamenting their whorishness when they show up on Ebay!!

After all, you made them that way, they came to your house innocent and pure and were defiled and cast out in their youth, they show up on Ebay used and abused and you lament that they are no longer the pristine, virginal youthful and innocent that you were the first to KNOW (in the biblical sense)!!

SHAME, SHAME

I'm going to tell your Mothers.

Bailey
